This policy explains how VBeslag collects, uses and protects personal data when you use our cloud software and website. We process personal data in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Norwegian Personal Data Act.

The data we collect
We collect only the data we need to provide and improve the service. Depending on how you use VBeslag, this may include:
- Account details — name, business name, work email, phone number, job role and login credentials.
- Billing information — billing address, VAT number, plan and payment records. Card details are handled by our payment provider, not stored by us.
- Usage data — actions in the app, catalogue and order activity, device and browser information, IP address and log data.
- Support messages — the content of emails, chats and forms you send us, and any attachments.
- Cookies and similar technologies — set when you visit our website and app, as described in our Cookie Policy.
How we use your data
We use your personal data to:
- Create and manage your account and provide the VBeslag service.
- Process payments, invoices and renewals.
- Provide support and respond to your requests.
- Keep the service secure, prevent abuse and troubleshoot problems.
- Improve our features and understand how the product is used.
- Send service updates and, where permitted, relevant product information.
Legal basis
We rely on the following legal bases under the GDPR:
- Contract — to deliver the service you have signed up for and handle billing.
- Legitimate interests — to secure, maintain and improve the service, and to communicate with customers, balanced against your rights.
- Consent — for non-essential cookies and optional marketing, which you can withdraw at any time.
- Legal obligation — where we must keep records, such as for accounting and tax.
How long we keep it
We keep personal data only as long as we need it for the purposes above. Account data is kept while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards. Billing and accounting records are kept for the period required by Norwegian law. Support messages and log data are kept for a limited time and then deleted or anonymised. When data is no longer needed, we delete it securely.
Sharing and sub-processors
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with trusted service providers (sub-processors) who help us run VBeslag — for example cloud hosting, payment processing, email delivery and analytics. These providers act on our instructions under written data processing agreements and may only use the data to provide their service to us. We may also disclose data where required by law or to protect our rights.
International transfers
We aim to keep data within the EU/EEA. Where a sub-processor transfers data outside the EEA, we put appropriate safeguards in place — typically the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and, where needed, additional technical and organisational measures — so that your data stays protected.
Your rights
Subject to the conditions in the GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification of data that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Erasure of your data where there is no legal reason to keep it.
- Portability — to receive your data in a portable format.
- Objection to processing based on legitimate interests, and to restrict processing in certain cases.
- Complaint to a supervisory authority. In Norway this is Datatilsynet (the Norwegian Data Protection Authority).
